Featured in our web exhibition entitled 'Front/Back - a Collection of Exquisite Small Persian Tribal Weavings' visible on www.albertolevi.com , this is a sumak bag face from the Shahsavan tribe located in the Khamseh region in northwest Persia, circa 1850. Size is 54 x 54 cm (21 x 21 inches). Missing slightly at the lower right hand corner, otherwise a very fine sumak weaving with lustrous colors and original sides and end closures.
