Back
by many points is this old tibetan stripe-weaving textile a rarity:
it is around 400x180cm (it was possibly a tent divider)
it has fantastic well patinated natural colors, including light purple, pink, carmine rot, lots of abrashed greens, brillant yellow etc...
it is very old, possibly before 1800, comparing to many other known examples .
the handle feels like a camelid wool precolombian textile.
though not in good condition it is a truly beautiful tibetan tribal piece.
one piece with large green and yellow stripes is attached along one side and belong originally to the piece (same material, colors and age).
please take some time to observe the variety of colors. there is no image here showing the complete piece, only one pic show it folded along the length. i can provide more pics, especially a view of the whole piece when it stop raining. please ask.
