Is it an Assyrian or Hittite loom weight as suggested to me or perhaps made as jewellery? An amulet of some kind has also been suggested. If a loom weight, it is very finely made for such a purpose and i have only ever seen cruder stone and ceramic examples. Its size is about 30mm diameter. It appealed to me as as a sculptor as it reminds me of Henry Moore and Brancusi sculptures and their love of and influences from ancient art. Please let me know if you know what it is!
