Laate 19th c. Kurd bag face, 2' x 1'7", This Kurdish bag face is a fine example of the positive effects of corrosion of the background brown wool in oriental rugs and bags. The oxidized approximately 2/3 of the field sets the floral design above the ground in a 3 dimensional perspective. The effect is quite intriguing especially as it contrasts with the deep indigo field color below. The soft color palette enhanced by the gold border creates a very pleasing autumnal feeling. (The photo fails to adequately translate the effect of the corrosion). price reduced: now $125!
