Big long nine saf Sivas kilim with an archaic saf design going back to at least the 18th century, not quite antique - 1920s/30s? but nevertheless a striking and unusual kilim which would make a spectacular wall hanging. a kilim with the same saf design features in Yanni Petsopoulos' book on Anatolian kilims and is on the cover of the 1991 edition. It is in very good condition with a small area of fading around the top of the head of the saf at the left end. Size 364 x 176cm.

Footnote: It has now been suggested to me that the kilim is actually from between 1890-1910 because the natural purple dye was not used in Sivas more recently than about 1910 (whereas the orange looks aniline) but i would be interested to hear what anyone with knowledge and experience in that areas has to say.
