Old kilim from Kagizman south of Kars in east Anatolia, an area that was formerly part of Armenia. Soft, shiny wool with beautiful colours and a classic design for Kagizman district. From the 1920s/30s, a substantial weave in excellent condition and very useable. Originally a longer kilim, skilfully shortened in the past retaining what appear to be the original borders and making a very useful size, 210 x 152cm.
