An interesting antique east Anatolian Malatya kilim fragment from the second half of the 19th century displaying four different weaving techniques as you can see in the three closeup photos below; a very fine soumac technique in the top panel, flat weave and slit weave (using an unusual crimped 3d technique) in the centre of the striped bands, and zili embroidery in the bottom panel.

This is the full width of the panel, as confirmed by the double selvage cords on both sides of the kilim, although this is part of what was a larger kilim like this example in this link to the Peyton Wright Collection in New Mexico http://peytonwright.com/modern/artwork/malatya-flatweave-4/ Fine, shiny wool characteristic of some east Anatolian tribes, paricularly the Shavak tribe which also uses this fine soumac technique (see the baby carrier also on Rugrabbit). This examnple may be Sinanli and observations are welcome. Wool using natural dyes on an undyed brown sheep wool warp of different natural colours.
