It has also been suggested that this head dress might originate in Tunisia (although found in Turkey) where there is also ancient tradition of weaving very fine silk textiles using metallic thread. There is an interesting collection of such Tunisian textiles in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London: http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/articles/t/tunisian-textiles-at-the-great-e... However, at the moment the consensus is that the headdress is from Aleppo, Syria as the weaving technique for the gold and silver thread and the bands of interlocking motifs are directly comparable with other Aleppo textiles including shawls and divan covers. a tribal attribution is as yet unknown in case anyone has suggestions.
