The Bergama rug from North West Anatolia in a smaller format is a prayer carpet with a depicted niche. a carpet from Bergama, the ‘Pergamum of antiquity’, in typical strict geometric pattern. The red niche is surrounded by a dark blue sky. Both are patterned with palmettes. They are framed by three borders in different fillings of tendrils. The carpet is in age-according good overall-condition with very low pile and several professionally executed restorations. The dimensions are 1.05 x 0.98 m.
