Back
a late 19th century Shahsavan kilim made from two mafrash bag side panels stitched together. Appears to be dyed with a combination of natural and synthetic dyes. Several visually interesting, historic repairs. Measures 40x49 inches.
The rug is mounted in a custom shadow box, which would cost at least $500 to recreate. The kilim appears to have been mounted with some sort of adhesive. i do not know what kind or if it would damage the piece if removed from its backing. The shadowbox is sturdy, but the gold finish has begun to fleck off and would benefit from a repaint. Due to the size of the shadowbox (49x56 inches) this item cannot be shipped conventionally. This piece is located in Atlanta, ga. i am willing to deliver within a reasonable distance and will help get it to your destination.
