Antique Persian Ravar / Lavar Kerman / Oriental Rug / Carpet most likely made in 1920s or thereabout.
In perfect condition with good even pile throughout about over 1/2 inches .
Looks and Feels like velvet.
It measures 105 inches by 147 inches .
Variant Navy and Blues field with an exceptional color palette.
Purples , Greens , Pinks, Olive, Blues , Reds....
It is made from high quality Manchester grade wool pile on a cotton foundation.
Ends are overcast with short fringes which in turn cover the kilim part of what would be kilim ends which is still intact on the other side. i decided to leave this on as it does do a perfect job in protecting the end of the rug and also keeps a good symmetry the way its meant to be.
It is recently soak washed by a textile conservator and is clean enough to touch face it.
Images were taken on a windy day outside with pappus ( hair like parachutes from dandeines ) in flight, some of which landed on the rug while photographing and can be seen as white dots . Please disregard them.
