Jaf Kurd Chuval Face, 3'2" x 2'1". Fresh find. This virtuoso weaving is distinguished by the use of ivory solely to frame the field with a diamond-studded crown. Successive rows of knots are offset by one warp each to perfect the diagonal effect. Its nine colors reflect the Belouch palette more than the Kurdish: Red, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Blue Green, Green, Yellow, Ivory, Purple, Undyed Brown. All colors are natural. Nice purple! The glossy pile is blasted down to the knot collars and beyond, with foundation visible, and ends and edges overcast. 60 kpsi (6 x 10), symmetrical knots. Please select each picture, then click the arrow icon to supersize it. Last two images show the back. (Inventory Number 1431.)
