Indo Portuguese Christian Chasuble from China (Macao?)for export
very enigmatic chasuble embroidered potentially Compagnie des Indes Indo - Portuguese for Christianity. Embroidery of silk embroidery with a beautiful Virgin and child on a background of Taoist ideograms. Very elegant bouquets three branches typically mogul and stylized pomegranates (?). Very beautiful and powerful polychromy of tones in shades of blue tobacco, indigo, yellow, yellow green with traces of stenciling (calame?) to delimit the embroidery. Chasuble in two parts with appliqués of TRIMs metal silver and cotton braided, back with indigo glazed cotton lining. Average condition that requires a work of conservation at Museum level.
Dimensions: 130 cm 70 cm wide for the largest Panel.
