An Exceptional Antique Turkoman / Turkmen silver Double Asyk pendant with gold painted and fired and carnelian inset. This outstanding example wa made by the Tekke / Teke tribe and dates mid to third quarter of 19th century. These heart shaped pendants (worn on a necklace ) are known as 'Asyk' and a genuine double heart / Double Asyk such as this is quite rare in the genre (a similar piece was published in Dieter and Rainhold Schletzer book "Old Silver Jewelry of the Turkoman" and Johannes Kalter book on Linden Museum Collection).
