Rare and unusual shin guards made with reeds wrapped by camelid fiber yarns in a stepped diamond pattern and trimmed top and bottom with applied alpaca skin (with hair still attached). Backed with warp faced plain weave cotton cloth on the inside. Still remaining are the braided ties of llama fiber yarns that were used attach these guards to the leg. a.d 1450 - a.d. 1532.
