Back
Finely woven 19th east Anatolian kilim with good colours complete with full borders at both ends, some corroded weft, old faded repairs and minor holes; a worthwhile restoration project. Size 386x160cm. Unusual colour palette with side borders similar to some Rashwan kilims. Probably from the Malatya - Reyhanli area. One of a collection of 19th century kilims acquired by a German family working in eastern Turkey between 1909 and 1920. It has two different old lead export seals and German 1920/30s moth proofing company cloth label on the back. One of the kilims, fragments and other weavings in my July and August sale, many at 50% off.
