Jizai hook, Japan. Keyaki wood (elm). 17" (43 cm) high, 14" (35.5 cm) wide, 5.25" (13.3 cm) thick Meiji Period. These beautiful hooks were used to suspend a kettle over an open hearth in a traditional Japanese home.
