Warp Faced Back Tibetan Pile Carpet(TC03) 44” x 45” Warp-faced back carpet from the Wangden Valley of central Tibet. Wool pile mat with natural dyes and fringe border. Traditionally these were made for monastic use as seats for sitting monks. Condition: Red has faded somewhat but this is a nice carpet. Used but in good condition. Circa 19th c. I collected this carpet in central Tibet many years ago.
