antique little mystery rug. i suppose its a a baluch but not like any I've had before. Recent New England house find. The field design looks baluch and the remnant goat hair selvages point that way... but the single strange border and wildly coarse weave are not typical baluch. Wool foundation. Appears to have all natural colors including an unusual soft apricot orange. "as found", dirty and with wear and damage as shown. 19th c. 2'11" x 3'9"
