mid 19 th century tibetan saddle top with beautiful wool and natural colors. saddle rugs with this design are not common. it is most probably part of the set of which the undersaddle is now published in "dragon and horse", see p/ 141 cat. 12.41. there is repiling on the middle horizontal axis, obviously not well done but also not really disturbing the charisma of the piece.
