Back
a fine and beautiful Antique silk embroidered Uzbek bag dating to late 19th century. This piece was made possibly by the Uzbeks living at the border regions of current day Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. The silk chain-stitched embroidery on a red ground is incredibly fine. The floral designed field with archaic borders and little silk Pom pins is visually very charming. The reverse sides (as seen on the photos) repeat a similar design. The colours are beautifully. i love the fuzzy strap made up of rich colours. Also the lovely polychrome tassels really add to the ethnic look. In real life this rare bag is a really fine piece. size: 18cm x 15 (7" x 6"). String adds an extra 10cm (4").
