Exceptional size exquisite wool silk and metal thread Antique Caucasian Kurdish kilim long bagface 90 x 33 cm (3ft x 1ft 1") last quarter 19th century. All natural dyes, colours: dark blue, blue, green, red, white (both wool as silk highlights), orange, yellow (both wool as silk (extensively used in the central part)), brown. Condition: very good, original selvedges complete and intact, upper ending complete and intact, lower ending complete intact and secured, minor wear to the metal thread weave in the centre and highlights (see pics). Technicals: warps: ivory handspun wool two strands twined clockwise, wefts: slit kilim technique two strands of handspun woolen and silk yarn, metal thread yarn composed of one strand metalthread and one strand of very fine cotton
