Large 19th century central Anatolian kilim
Compartment type kilim with large s hook bands and a striking and very unusual border design like winged eagles or vultures echoed in the embroidered winged cicim motifs (last photo). Recent addition to the collection, probably from Konya or possibly Isparta. In excellent condition with good colours, mixed brown and ivory wool warps with natural ivory wool in the field. Some surface wear/corrosion to cicim motifs and limited professional reweave of corroded weft with antique wool. Circa 3rd-4th quarter 19th century. Size 295cm x 145cm.
