Unusual type of Anatolian prayer rug from Sivas with double floating prayer arches in the mirhab.
One of the recent arrivals to my collection of Anatolian kilims and rugs, a Kurdish tribe prayer rug from Sivas in east Anatolia with a two floating niches within the red mirhab. Varied drawing of the borders and good, vibrant colours with interesting asymmetry. Clean and in very good condition with some professional repairs, mainly to the red mirhab. Circa 1st-2nd quarter 1900s. Size 180x114cm.
