Antique tribal Afshar bagface 87 x 62 cm (2ft 11" x 2ft 1") last quarter 19th century. All natural dyes, colours: red, dark blue, sky blue, emerald green, yellow, white, brown, dark brown. Condition: according to age, evenly medium pile all over, original selvedges complete and intact with original wrapping (slight wear and damage and loose part right top corner (see pics), original closing pads complete and intact (some damage to the goathair finishing), bottom ending some loss (see pics), several small holes (see pics), worn wrinckle top left corner (see pics), old restoration (see pics) Technicals: symmetrical knotting, warps: 2 strands of ivory handspun wool twined clockwise, wefts: 2 shoots of fine untwined counterclockwise handspun red wool, very floppy handle
