Door Curtain From Laos - Beautifully colored, older woven panel was made to cover a doorway. The cotton background of the main body appears to have been dyed with ebony and is variegated; indigo colors the lower border. Silk is used as supplementary weft for the motifs of mythical beasts in the body and along the lower edge. The upper part is decorated with stylized tigers and deer. Harmonious colors of magenta, dark turquoise, purple, cream, soft pink, with red accents make this a lively work of folk art. Tho old, condition is like new, with only one very small hole.
