This is a very finely embroidered Arab Woman's dress from the area called the West Bank of Israel. The design and quality of the embroidery makes it possible to identify what town or city the dress comes from. It looks as if the embroidered part of the dress has been sewn onto new material and the neckline is unfinished. The embroidered part of these dresses are usually so finely done, they outlast the fabric on which they are sewn. This piece is very fine and in perfect shape except for the edges of the background fabric which can be easily hemmed. The type and design of the embroidery is rare. i saw many woman working in these beautiful dresses. They would pull them up at the waist and tie them up with a belt so the bottom would not touch the ground and they would tie back the long sleeves. This is a rare and beautiful dress that needs alittle hemming at the neck. It is a large size.
