This is a very dramatic headpiece that i believe comes from the Bedouin Nomadic people who lived in the Negev Desert area of Israel. Most of the Bedouin now live in towns. The piece is decorated with large and small coins and Cowrie Shells in the back . It is supposed to come low over the woman's eyes for religious reasons. The coins are attached to a woven hat.
