No.D011 * Chinese Antique "Old Peking" Rug . Age: Mid-19th Century Size: 146x236cm(4 ' 10 "x7 ' 9 ") Origin: Beijing Shape: Rectangle. Background Color: Blues, This regal blue carpet has a single central medallion composed of lotus flowers which symbolize purity and accomplishment. It is surrounded by vases containing orchid flowers which symbolizes humility, moderation and refinement. The very rare corner designs are also orchids. The inner border is a garland of shells and a single key meander. The outer border is a series of peony flowers which symbolizes wealth and nobility. Cotton warp and weft, asymmetrical woolen knots. All vegetable dyed.
