Buyi Woman's Costume - This distinctive costume is that of a married Buyi woman in Guizhou Province, sw China, and comprises a jacket, apron, and skirt. Silk embroidery and weaving, and batik decorate the handsome jacket; the skirt is batiked cotton, partially pleated and with a deep inside edge of handspun indigo cotton; the apron is very attractively embroidered in silk and embellished with a fine, old silk ribbon at the neck. Complete outfits are not easy to find and this is a very attractive one.
