This vividly colored Baluch rug combines two very characteristically Baluchi themes that are very seldom seen in the same weaving: a camel ground with an all-over pattern of double-anchor ornament. Derived from the centers of octagonal elements found in Baluch sumac weaving, these pleasing forms are more frequently encountered on blue or plum ground Baluch rugs and bag faces. Their scale here is superb. Of further merit is the distinctive color palette, with stripes of plum and ochre combined with indigo and a prominent sky-blue. size = 2'9"x4'10" INV#16878
