Rumal kani Kashmir shawl Circa 1860 India
Beautiful shawl Kashmir square dating from the second half of the 19th century. Fine weaving espoline/kani very tight and assembled pieces. Dense sets six-color around a black reservation starry with signature embroidered Indian artisan. Border arlequinee finely embroidered and reported on all four sides. Very good condition conservation and color.
Dimensions: 193 cm x 195 cm
It is not a late Indian patchwork shawl but a model much earlier stating that a fine and careful production. Generally attributed this type of shawl to the market Persia. Black reserve of origin not changed!Apart from a small very discreet recovery in the central reserve (visible on picture), its State is excellent... not insolees perfect colors... no moth holes.
