This antique Amritsar carpet from India measures 9’0” x 11’7” (274 x 353 cm). It is a fantastic rug woven with very finely spun wool, possibly Manchester or pashmina. The field consists of tall cypress trees with 1 ½ in each quadrant and eight lions. It has a center medallion containing ivory flowers and birds. The field is covered in flowering trees in ivory and rose all on a very attractive medium blue ground. The major border has cartouches with lotus and birds on an ivory ground. The rug is 99% full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance.
