Back
a vibrant Antique Uzbek Silk on Silk Suzani / Susani from Shahrisabz dating to the late 19th century. Often these are mis attributed to the lakai tribe when in fact they are rural shahrisabz region. It made using fine polychrome silks embroidered delicately using a combination of basma/ flat stitch and chain-stitched silk embroidery on silk ground . The classic design is drawn beautifully with a central medallion and repeating botehs contained inside a star form. Gorgeous polychrome floral design stem to fill the remaining part of the field. The borders are finished with repeating badam guls and palmettes. It has original lining. The ground has some fraying parts but doesn't distract the rich embroidery. Would look great framed or hung. My asking price is fair. size: 135cm x 105cm (53" x 41")
