Antique Turkish Oushak circa 1900,measuring 6x4.This Oushak scatter rug has borrowed from many design sources. The border of triple flower modules is purely Turkish and it appears on Ghiordes Prayer rugs of the c.1800 period. The rusty rose field is semi Turkish with a central box with arrowheads along the edge, but the cartouche pendants and the fill of small octagons is more Caucasian. The two ewets in the central panel are strictly Anatolian. The colours are soft, emphasizing rust, yellow, light green, medium brown, ivory and tan.The pile is generally good, but near one corner there are condition issues;few small holes,to be specific, all next to one another. That issue has been illustrated in the last image.Feel free to ask any questions.
