Back
Possibly Northwest Persian or Eastern Turkish,Probably Kurdish, measuring 5.10 x 3.1,mid-19th century.Totally rustic and tribal, two huge palmettes set on a charming light blue field with rust and dark brown tones. The foundation is all wool with symmetric knots. The exact origin of this unrestored piece is a puzzle. The fat single strand weft points to eastern Turkey, but the general style is Persian.Kurdish it almost surely is.All colours are natural. The rug is sold with all faults visible. This piece could possibly be older than our suggested date.It has been cleaned professionally. Please feel free to ask questions or request for more images.
