Small bronze image of Annapurna; the Goddess of the hearth and food (as well as a whacking big mountain named after her). She sits holding a ladle with which she feeds the world with an unlimited amount of food. She is an incarnation of Parvati, the wife of Shiva. Annapurna symbolizes the divine aspect of nourishing care. This item is circa 17th/18th ce. Excellent patina, originally from Tamil Nadu.
