a very rare type of antique silver beaded Central Asian necklace made either by Uzbeks or the people of Nuristan region of Afghanistan , dating to the 19th century. This rare necklace boats a very elegant design and the workmanship is surprisingly very intricate for a tribal jewellery. The silver beads have intricately shaped longer beads which are interspersed with similar shorter beads, all made up of fine and high grade silver. while they match the finesse of any urban jewellery of the region, they were in fact tribal and made to be worn by the local rural people. It can be easily worn with modern fashion as a unique work of jewellery or can be displayed as an ethnographic art. Rare to find one with such good condition. size: Diameter of the necklace about 59cm (23"). The larger beads are approx. 3cm (1 and 1/4") and the smaller beads 1.5cm (1/2"). The necklace weighs 115 grams. Offered at a fair price.
