Silk velvet ikat panels were made only for a short period of time in Uzbekistan on account of the laborious process of their production by specialized dye experts and weavers. As a result, they were considered the cream of the crop of ikat manufacturing process and are highly sought after today by collectors, especially when they are in such a perfect condition as this panel.
