It features a single central medallion which appears to be the stylized combination of a pomegranate (the symbol of male fertility) and a geometric design. The field has more small pomegranates in various designs and an type of excellent corner designs commonly found on ancient Chinese bronze wine vessels. The border has a very good flyfot pattern symbolizing the sun. Take note of the unusual use of splashes of blue color throughout the carpet. Cotton warp and wool weft, asymmetrical woolen knots. Good condition.
