antique caucasian rug. Unusual little rug, maybe kuba or possibly avar, with a soft palette and some attractive archaic elements. As found, very dirty with some good pile and some wear as shown and selvage crudelys replaced. Heavy brown oxidation. Soft browns and greens hard to see under the dirt. i look for fuchsine but i don't see it. Has a certain charm but very rough. Priced accordingly. 19th c. 3' x 4'5"
