Camel-Ground Baluch Tree Rug with a central classic type Baluchi tree flanked by two more geometric tree forms and interspersed with a third type of smaller tree throughout the branches. Great drawing matched by an unusual but successful palette including oxblood, slate-blue and a very intriguing pale yellow, all natural. Unusual structure to match with areas of white wool weft. Very minimal border using natural brown wool of a type found as guards throughout the Near East. Probably from Khorosan, perhaps an example of the depressed warp type before they got late and chunky. Nice thing. (Former Basha collection.)
