morrocan berber middle atlas carpet. a large carpet from the region of Boujad which, unusually for this origin, has a well balanced overall design in which chestnut shades predominate. Other colours are used in designs and borders and one small human figure hides among the motifs. This carpet has some age but is in excellent condition with original unworn ends and overcasting. a long Boujad carpet with similar colours is shown as plate 29, page 82, of the excellent textbook "Maroc - Tapis de Tribus".
