Outstanding Iban woman’s skirt depicting hawks flying over the forest. The contrast between the black and brown on the background really conveys the interplay of light and shadow as seen up through the canopy. Apart of the inevitable few pinholes this piece is in excellent condition woven from all handspun threads and the central pattern is composed of all vegetal dyes. l: 108cm/42in and w: 56cm/24.4in.
