This circa 1890 Peking Chinese Rug measures 4’2” x 6’8” (128 x 207 cm). It has two foo lions at either end of the rug facing each other with two phoenix birds separating them. Each of the lions are standing above a rockery in blue and ivory with some trees and flowers. All this action is taking place on a medium blue ground encompassed by a lighter blue border containing vines and flowers in ivory and aubergine. This is a unique rug. As far as i know i have never seen anything like it. It is in essentially perfect condition for its age. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
