130-140 year old wool Cicim on Camel Hair Kilim Rug from Central Anatolia.
2 panels 10 ft x 8 ft wd. Unusual and intense piece. Stable colours with one exception.
Was repaired here and there long ago. We stabilized the ends and used the Camel hair yarns to finish the
broken end. There is some cicim that is an early synthetic possible fuschine , some traces of violet suggest this.
This synthetic has oxidized and rubbed off. We removed most of most of the remaining bits when cleaning the rug.
The camel kilim is quite dry. i froze it at -20c for a month in Late December. Bought from a Picker from Sultanhani.
