Antique Persian Tabriz rug of classic design with a central medallion on a very soft abrashed terracotta ground. Size: 6ft 0in x 4ft 3in (183 x 129cm). Circa 1900. The rug has a change of colour(abrash) to the field which adds to the attraction of the rug. The soft blues and gold colour give the rug a light feel. This is an excellent example of type with a colour palette in great demand for furnishing. The rug has soft wool pile on a cotton foundation. The rug is in good condition with slight wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic floor use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
