This energetically drawn sumak end panel was woven in the Moghan region of the Caucasus. a central octagon is traced with rams' horn motif, extending from both the top and bottom across the entire horizontal span of the piece. a small cruciform element is drawn in the center and is flanked by abstracted foliage evocative of zoomorphic elements. While elongated geometric elements float within the sky-blue field, stylized birds with elongated plumage are drawn in the top and bottom borders. Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Swan.
