Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of small size, these rugs are generally considered to be ‘dowry’ weavings.
Circa 1900.
Size: 4ft 5in x 3ft 3in (135 x 100cm).
This is an excellent example with three rows of seven Tekke guls, the minor guls are in alternating shades of indigo blue. The field colour is a very good shade of rose madder red.
The boarder is of the sunburst design.
The rug is fine and has a soft floppy handle.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
