Detail of one of my favorite Matisse paintings showing a 19th century "Afghan" Rug on the floor. Likely painted in the early 20th century. Titled: "Portrait de Famille". Note the pile rug pillows and possible Yomud Turkmen tent band fragments (?) used on a divan. i found this image years ago and just rediscovered it. Thought I'd share the image.
